May reorganize and extend corporate existence. — Any corporation now or hereafter organized and incorporated or existing under any general or special law of this state to do any insurance business other than that of life insurance the period of whose corporate existence is about to terminate may reorganize and extend and continue its corporate existence under the general laws of this state in the manner herein provided.
